Grounding and Cleansing Meditation If you have trouble sleeping, you might try this exercise when you go to bed. If you fall asleep very easily once your head hits the pillow and your intention is to ground and cleanse your body it would be better done during the day. For this exercise you need to be sitting or lying down comfortably with your arms by your side.Set the intention to scan your body to make a connection with your body to help ground you. Take your time over this Take three deep breaths. Slowly breathe in and out and focus on your breathing. Continue to focus on your breathing. Feel your mind become calmer. Clear your thoughts. – You might still experience mental chatter during this exercise. When thoughts come into your mind, acknowledge them then imagine them being filed on a shelf at the back of your mind and bring your focus back to your body. Start your body scan by focusing on your feet. Feel your toes, the soles of your feet, your heels, the top of your feet and your ankles. How do they feel? Are they tingling? Are they warm or cold? Aching or relaxed? Are they swollen? Wiggle your toes. Notice the feeling. You are connected with your feet. Can you sense the energy flowing in your feet. Does it feel like the energy may be blocked? If so, keep your focus on your feet as you take three deep cleansing breaths. Imagine you are breathing in white cleansing light that is taken down to your feet, clearing any energetic blockages. Next focus on your lower legs. Feel your shins, the backs of your lower legs. Do they feel light or heavy? Are they warm or cold? Do you feel the energy flowing through your legs? Feel your mind-body connection. Feel your connection with your legs. Do you feel the energy is blocked? If so repeat the process above, breathing in deeply of Divine white cleansing light allowing this to move to your legs and cleanse energetic blockages.When you feel an awareness of your lower legs move up to your knees, then your thighs. Keep moving your focus further up your body, scanning your body, feeling your body and where needed, taking in those deep cleansing breaths.Finish your scan with your focus on your face and head. © Carole Anne
